Objective:
The goal is simple: capture the opponent's King. The game combines the strategic movement of chess with the deck-building and combat of a trading card game.
Your Turn:
Each turn consists of several phases:
- Untap: All of your energy cards untap and exhausted pieces become ready.
- Draw: You draw one card from your deck (except on the very first turn of the game).
- Main Phase: You can perform any of these actions in any order:
- Play one Energy card from your hand.
- Play any number of Troop, Technology, or Trap cards by spending energy.
- Move one chess piece according to its standard movement rules. You MUST move a piece to end your turn.
- End Turn: Click "End Turn" after moving your piece. If you have more than 7 cards, you will discard down to 7.
Cards:
- Energy: The foundation of your strategy. Play one per turn. Tap them to generate energy to play other cards.
- Troops & Technology: These are attached to your chess pieces (not the King). A piece can hold a maximum of 2 cards. They provide Attack (AD) and Health (HP) stats.
- Traps: Secret cards that trigger on specific enemy actions.
Combat:
- If a piece attacks an enemy piece with no cards, it's a standard chess capture.
- If both pieces have cards, a battle begins! The total AD and HP from all attached cards are calculated.
- The attacker deals damage first. If the defender survives, it deals damage back.
- Attacker Wins: The defending piece is removed from the board. The attacker moves to the square.
- Defender Wins: The attacking piece is removed from the board.
- Stalemate (Both Lose): The attacking piece is removed. The defender remains.
- Stalemate (Both Survive): The attacker retreats to its original square and becomes "exhausted" for one turn (cannot move).
